APL provides a collection of low level
interfaces and thread-aware drivers for UARTs. Due to the tight
coupling to the target’s operating system and hardware, availability
of interface(s) for particular platforms/boards/MCUs varies. Click

Blocking UART Drivers
APL provides UART drivers that support stream oriented, blocking
IO. The blocking IO drivers allow threads to share the control of
the CPU while waiting on read/write operations.
UART Primitives
APL provides a Hardware Abstraction Layer for accessing
hardware specific UART registers.
UART Initialization
UART initialization is platform and/or board specific.
